Elmcor's Shanta Arjune - Accountability Value of the Month

Shanta – Accountability Value of the Month

Congratulations to Shanta Arjune, Program Accountant who has been selected to represent the Elmcor Value of Accountability. Shanta exudes this value, in her capacity as an accountant and dedicated employee at Elmcor.  She works tirelessly in making sure that all OASAS funded departments’ financial and operational needs are met and is a constant support to staff and her supervisor the Director of Finance.

It may appear that an obvious selection of accountability would be someone from a fiscal department, but Ms. Arjune was nominated and chosen because of her responsiveness, effectiveness, and transparency when assisting her colleagues and always with a smile.  Shanta has shown her accountability to the progress of the agency’s value-based, mission-aligned culture by supporting fundraising events; awareness activities; social media campaigns; camaraderie with colleagues and doing all of it once again with a smile. She has a respectful and professional manner when dealing with others while holding them accountable for their part of the work.  Shanta is able to accept her responsibility of executing her work of accounting for programs that account for 67% of the agency’s budget. This level of responsibility is truly a reflection of the trust that has been placed in her to assure that we are able to provide great care for the communities we serve
